Absolutely beautiful location by the river and the red rock. Sites were quite close together but luckily it wasn’t crowded when we were there (week night in mid November). Very close to great hikes and 5 miles from gas station/restaurant/convenient store. Bathrooms had a creepy red light at night which was not the vibe, but they were well maintained. Would definitely come back!
Great views, easy access to the Colorado river ,
Verizon has 3 to 4 bars and decent data, didn't try video though. Potable water is in a room on the side of the bathrooms.
One thing to keep in mind , its $ 30 to get into Glen Canyon and $20 for a night, bare bones sites , but great view of the river
Beautiful place to wake up! Quiet, well kept, and with amazing views. $20 a night, collected daily through an honor system. Well worth the money.
It is a great location with average spots and little in the way of amenities. The campground is first come, first served. The campground is a large oval with the center spots open on either side and are shared spots, tents only. The outside of the oval can accommodate campers or tents and are not shared spots. There is a self-serve pay station when you enter the campground. There are bathrooms with flushing toilets and hot and warm water sinks. I did not see any drinking water outlets while there. Very little in the way of shade if on the outside of the oval. Center spots have nice covers. That's about it. There's not much to it. However, the location makes the few amenities worth the stay.
Great place to camp. Several fun hikes and beautiful scenery. 10 out of 10
We love Lee's ferry campground, it's just stunning with the Vermillion cliffs on one side and the Colorado River below. This is one of our favorite campgrounds.
The only negative is the lower bathroom is locked needing repairs I believe and it sounds like it's been that way for quite awhile. If you're on the lower half of the campground this means a pretty good hike up to the upper restrooms.
Amazing views! No hook ups but not an issue if you're prepared. The sites were close but the views, no matter what site, made up for it! Didn't use the restrooms , we're self contained and they have a dump station just outside the campground. Only regret we didn't stay longer, 3 days at least!. Short walk or drive down to the river and great area to hang out on with restrooms! Hiking was amazing!
Upon arrival at Glen Canyon National Recreation Area - Lees Ferry, we stopped and got out to read the fee requirements.
* $30 per vehicle good for 1 week - credit card machine available
* Annual/Lifetime National Park Pass is acceptable
The area is ran by the National Park Service and we saw US Park Rangers in the park daily. We only saw them strolling through the campground Sunday evening and Monday morning. We made our way a couple miles down the road and found the campgrouns with a self-serve pay station. The envelopes at the pay station have a place for your credit card info if you've forgotten cash.
There are 54 sites in a large loop split in half by the entrance road. All outside sotes are back-in RV/tent sites. The inside of the upper loop are shared tent-only sites. The inside of the lower loop are pull-through RV/tent sites. We tent camped so not sure how level gravel pads are for an RV. Felt pretty level in our tent. Our 38' class A might have fit into a couple/few sites.
There are no hook-ups. There is an RV dump station within the park. There are bathrooms in the upper and lower loops. When we were there in June 2023 only the bathrooms in the upper loop were open. Sinks and toilets. Empty soap dispenser in women's restroom, no paper towel holder or hand dryer so bring your own. They have a utility sink in the bathroom building but we didn't use it so I didn't check it out.
The sites are close. Each one has a picnic table and either a standing grill or fire ring grill. Some sites have a cover over the picnic table. It can get very windy and the geound can feel like you are pounding into rock.
The campground overlooks the Colorado River. There is a trail from the campground down to the river/beach. There are a handful of hiking trails and a lot of history. The scenery is beautiful and it's a great place to relax and recharge.
Cell service - TMobile - Mostly full bars 5G with some intermittent 4G
